My First 50 Days in Crypto

Day 50: Seeing the Market Through New Eyes, My First 50 Days in Crypto

When I started this journey, I thought I was just learning definitions.

“What is blockchain?”
“What is a wallet?”
“What is a perp?”
“Anong meaning ng volatility?”

I didn’t expect that by Day 50, I’d be learning like a researcher, observing like a trader, and thinking like someone who finally understands the rhythm behind the charts.

My First 50 Days in Crypto

The last 50 days weren’t random topics.
They built on each other, slowly, consistently:

Perps taught me how traders behave now.
Options taught me how they prepare for later.
Volatility gave the market its personality.
Funding showed the tug-of-war behind the scenes.
OI revealed commitment.
Liquidations explained violent candles.
IV showed expectation.
The Greeks explained reaction.

Each concept sharpened the next.

And somewhere in the middle of studying all these,
I became more confident in how I think, not just what I know.

What changed in me

I stopped feeling “late.”
I stopped feeling intimidated.
I stopped feeling like crypto was a secret language spoken by a chosen few.

Instead, I learned to slow down and observe:

• Why is price moving?
• Who is being squeezed?
• Where is conviction building?
• What behavior is the market showing?
• Do I understand the why behind this candle?

Crypto stopped feeling like chaos.
It started feeling like structure.

Not perfect.
Not predictable.
But understandable.

Why Base became part of my halfway milestone

This wasn’t planned at all, but Base ended up becoming the ground where I practiced everything.

Because it was affordable, fast, and forgiving, I wasn’t afraid to test:

  • volatility
  • liquidation waves
  • IV spikes
  • delta shifts
  • theta decay
  • funding flips
  • micro trades to feel behavior

When the chain stops distracting you,
you start learning with clarity.

It didn’t make me a pro.
It made me consistent.

Mom Analogy, The point where you stop being scared

It’s like when your child learns to swim.

At first they panic with every kick.
Every breath feels like danger.
Everything is overwhelming.

Then one day, you don’t even notice it, they’re suddenly floating on their own.

Not perfectly.
Not elegantly.
But confidently.

That’s what Day 50 feels like for me.

Not perfect.
Not a pro.
But finally floating.

Takeaway

The first 50 days taught me that crypto isn’t about being brave, it’s about being curious.

It’s not about knowing everything, it’s about understanding one thing at a time.

And the best part?
I’m only halfway.

If you’ve been following this journey, thank you.
The next 50 days will go deeper:

Market structure.
Sentiment.
Momentum.
Risk management.
Onchain behaviour.
And more stories from my work in derivatives research.

Tell me what you want to see more of your question might become the next post.
