Start Today: Setting Intentions for a Better Tomorrow

The truth is, I don’t know how to get started with this blog. But maybe that’s okay, right? Starting anything new can feel awkward and overwhelming. You stare at the blank page, the empty canvas, the untouched project, and think, Where do I even begin?

Funny how life works sometimes. Just this morning, I was debating whether to buy my husband a MacBook Air. I kept going back and forth, overthinking as usual. Then, as I sat down at my computer, I saw an email from Andrew Matthews that said, “To do the difficult things, first you must make a decision, then you find a way.”

That hit me like a lightning bolt. It was so simple, yet exactly what I needed to hear. Right then, I decided—my husband is getting a new laptop. Done. No more second-guessing.

And you know what? That little decision sparked something in me. I realised I’ve been overthinking everything, not just the laptop. I’ve got all these things I want to do—big dreams, small goals, random ideas—but I’ve been paralysed by the fear of starting. Not anymore.

Today, I’m starting.

My Plan for Getting Unstuck

So here’s the deal: I’m using this blog as my personal accountability buddy. This is where I’ll keep track of the things I want to do and the steps I’m taking to make them happen. It doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to be real.

Here’s how I’m approaching this:

  1. Set Daily Intentions: Every day, I’ll ask myself, What’s one thing I can do today to move closer to my goals? It doesn’t matter if it’s a baby step. What matters is taking that step.
  2. Research & Document: I love learning, so why not turn this blog into a space for all the ideas I’m exploring? Whether it’s personal growth, career goals, or just fun projects, it’ll go here.
  3. Be Honest with Myself: I don’t have to have it all figured out. The goal isn’t perfection; it’s progress.
  4. Celebrate Progress: Even the small wins deserve recognition. Buying that laptop? That’s a win. Writing this post? Another win.

Why This Matters

I’m tired of feeling stuck. I don’t want to look back a year from now and think, If only I’d started then. Life is moving, whether I’m ready or not. It’s time to stop waiting for the perfect moment and start creating it instead.

What I’m learning is that starting isn’t about being ready. It’s about showing up and trying, even when you don’t have all the answers. And honestly, that’s kind of exciting.

Here’s to the First Step

I don’t know where this blog will take me, but I’m here for the journey. I want this to be a space where I can show up authentically—whether I’m figuring out a new project, reflecting on life, or celebrating a tiny win.

So, here we are, day one. Tomorrow, I’ll set a new intention and take another step.

Because the hardest part of starting? Is just starting. But once you do, the rest begins to unfold.

What about you? Is there something you’ve been putting off, waiting for the “perfect” moment? Let’s start together. Share your thoughts or your first step in the comments below—I’d love to hear from you!
